Hello! I’m Lindsay (she/her), the baker, decorator, and creative hands behind all the sweet things you’ll find here.
By day, I’m actually a full-time Certified Engineering Technologist with two very different passions: construction and baking. Could they be any farther apart? Probably not! But for as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of having a bakery of my own. With a whole lot of encouragement — and more than a little help — from my incredibly supportive and handy parents and husband, that dream became Sugar Shack Bake Shoppe.
If you know me, there’s a good chance you know me as the one who makes “those cookies.” You know the ones: thick, soft vanilla sugar cookies with lightly crisp bottoms, topped with a silky layer of royal icing that has a wonderfully soft bite and just a hint of something special on the palate. What is it? Well… a cookie lady has to keep some secrets. 😉
For me, baking has always been about more than simply making something delicious. It’s about the little moments that come with it — birthdays, holidays, celebrations, thank-yous, family traditions, and sometimes just treating yourself because it’s Tuesday.
I’m so happy to be able to share what I love with my community here in Ridgeway and throughout the Niagara Region, and I truly appreciate every person who chooses my little bakery to be part of their special moments.
